Today was the teacher preview for our Fall book fair. Our wonderful media coordinator, Amanda, goes out of her way to make the preview special for teachers. We always have thematic food and games. Since I started decorating cakes, she has made me make a cake to go along with each book fair theme.This year's theme was destination book fair. So I decided to do a travel cake. The suitcase layer is yellow cake with chocolate butter cream and chocolate marshmallow fondant. The round layer and the world are also yellow with butter cream. The world is covered in white chocolate marshmallow fondant.
I have been experimenting with floral wire and adding "floating" decorations for the cake.
